A Christmas to Remember....

Gifts can come in the most unique packages sometimes. We don't always need to know what is inside of them. We just need to open them and let the magic happen. Its a wonderful feeling...opening a gift and being surprised. We ask for things of course, but to open it and feel it in our hands is a completely different experience. For me, my best gift this Christmas came to my front door. My parents and brother surprised me on Christmas Eve and drove to my house so they wouldn't miss Christmas morning. I couldn't have asked for a better gift.

Christmas morning was filled with all the magic that movies are made of. We were so pleased to see that Santa had enjoyed the cookies the kids left for him. He also placed the Santa key on the plate to let the kids know he found it! We also discovered that he had taken the wonderful card Madilyn had made for him with the help of Berkley. She asked if she could make him a card. She wanted to thank him for coming to her house. It was so special to hear what she wanted to tell him.

Berkley and Tyler were awake at the crack of dawn! The were trying to patiently wait for everyone to get up.....trying! I came down the stairs to eager faces and they were ready to wake the house. However, I wanted to get the turkey ready to go into the oven and put the cinnamon rolls in before everyone came downstairs. That is tradition! We always have cinnamon rolls and biscuits with gravy for Christmas morning. So, I went to baking....

Let the fun begin....Waking everyone up was the next mission....Time for presents.....
Stockings anyone?.....Well, of course!
i tune's gift card...Hum? What could that mean...
Call of Duty 5 for the Ty Man....
and Madilyn was interested in the treats in her stocking!

Tyler is decked out in his military gear for his AirSoft Showdowns plus he has his new Coast Guard Lego set...Yes, one day I am sure he will be a General!
Berkley...yep, you guessed it....she scored the ipod Nano!
Madilyn...is holding the new family game....Each year Santa brings a special game for the
Fields Family...This year it was, Buzz Word.
I requested that Vince allow me to take a photo of him with the kids....He usually is always taking the photos and is hardly ever in the pictures. I was surprised when he agreed!
This picture says it all...... I love my beautiful family!

Our Christmas Day was filled with the wonderful smells of Christmas and yummy food. It was a blessing to have us all together. I recognize that I am blessed beyond measure. Family is the most important treasure we can hold on to.
We missed my sister and her family
as well as Vince's Mom and family. But, they were here in Spirit.
Distance can not break the bonds of family love.

lastly....It seems the excitement was too much for Vince!
He was so tired that he willing fell asleep under my BYU blanket.
FYI: BYU is the one school my husband does not like,
it has something to do with football,
even though his wife went there!
Maybe he is changing his mind? I love my blanket! I am sending bunches of love to my sister
for making it for me for Christmas!

I want a BYU blankie too:) Jill, you need to become a writer!! Your thoughts just flow so naturally and beautifully. I am thinking something to replace our Edward obsession..... I know you have a story in there just waiting to come out. You were always so imaginative so get writing sista!! I will read it for ya, ok!

I will have to get some BYU material and make you a blanket! I will try to find some. I had to laugh about the writing! Do you remember how your brother used to correct my notes to him? I had the worse English grammar ever. Now about the Edward obsession....I am not ready to move on. I want more actually. Who knows, maybe there is something inside me just waiting for me to give it a voice! You will be the first to read it when it finally finds me!

I want to read it after Stephanie. BTW I love spell check, it was the best thing invented, I just wish they had a hand version for ASL (American Sign Language) I always have problems when I have to spell something out instead of a sign for it.
