Family Day at the Dentist Office...Yikes!

That's right...today I the day I dread every six months. It was time to go visit the dentist for our
6 month check up. I must confess, I tried to get out of it this morning. I realized that I didn't have a time for Tyler's appointment. So, I was going to be gracious and give up my time so I could keep the kids all together with their appointments. However, the dentist office just happened to have some open time available so it was no problem for them to add Tyler to the list. My plan did not work.

See, I don't like the dentist, nothing personal Dr. Adamson, your the best! It feels like my heart is going to jump out of my body when I lay down in that chair. I am completely grossed out by the sound of the scraping on my teeth. Then to top it off, they always ask, "have you been flossing"! It is like I am back in school and the teacher is waiting for my response to the question if I have my homework. Today, I thought about saying, of course I floss, but my gums gave me away...No, I haven't flossed in a while. Then I got the lecture. Its time to take care of my gums.

The real fun was happening beside my station at the dentist office. One brave dental hygenist had to clean Berkley, Tyler and Madilyn's teeth. Wow! That was interesting....Tyler never quit talking, Madilyn did well until they wanted to take pictures of her mouth and Berkley described her cleaning like someone sand blasting her mouth. Getting your teeth cleaned with braces on is not really fun. They all had perfect check ups...that was enough to make me smile!

When it is all said and done, you can't help but smile and flash those pearly whites. The real fun is when your handed the dental goodie bag. A New Toothbrush and the miniature tube of toothpaste. You have really scored when, you get the mini dental floss. It makes the experience a little less painful.

So, this time, I am really going to try to follow the doctors orders: brush 3 times a day and floss! Just remind me that I said that tomorrow.....
