Madilyn is free at last......Well, until Monday!

Yep, it is true....Madilyn had to go to visit our home away from home on Friday evening....the day after Christmas. Yeah, you know the place....Children's Hospital. I really had high hopes that we would make it the full two weeks without a return to our favorite place. However, that didn't happen.

Late on Friday, I had given Madilyn our famous sponge bath and washed her hair. As I was cleaning the ulcer on her foot I noticed a lot of blood in her cast. Upon further investigation I found another ulcer forming up under her cast above the spot where they had cut the hole in it. I about freaked out! I showed it to Vince and told him we had to get this cast off of her now. So, we loaded up and drove to Children's.

We were very fortunate that the Resident on call was one of the doctors that was very familiar with Madilyn's case and had been in surgery with Dr. Busch back in October when he corrected her foot. So, I didn't have to go in to details, he already new. We discussed it and he agreed to leave the cast off and had her bandaged up and let us come home. We have an appointment tomorrow, Monday, to go see Dr. Busch. I hope that we can resolve this problem once and for all.

Here is a picture showing where the new ulcer was forming. It looks like it will need to be debreeded. Its hard to see that part in the picture. It was oozing green stuff this morning. That has me concerned. Her heal is finally healing and is almost completely closed.

Well, tomorrow maybe we will get some answers. She has more feeling where the second ulcer was forming. Last night she started screaming because her foot was hurting. We let her take a shower for first time in 2 months. It did help calm her down. I will give another update tomorrow after our return from Children's. Yeah, she is still smiling!

Green is not good. Red is good, green is bad. I am so glad you caught it early. I hope it is time for no more casts!! The last one was cute but your baby needs a break. Her smile says it all in the picture-leave it off Dr:)

I agree with Stephanie, Green is not good when it comes to health. I should know with the sinus infections I have had over the last couple of years. But maybe they can leave the darn cast off and if anything put her in some type of splint. good Luck at the appt. today. And give Maddie a hug from me, and tell her to give you one from me also.
